The history played out within Berkeley Castle’s walls make it one of the most remarkable buildings in Britain and the family hope that you will visit them to experience its special atmosphere.
STORIES
The Castle's Keep was finished in the late 12th Century by the first of the Berkeleys, one Robert Fitzharding, a wealthy provost of Bristol who was awarded the Castle by Henry II, the then Duke of Anjou. Since that time there is not much of Britain 's history that has passed Berkeley Castle by.
MEDIEVAL FORTRESS
Berkeley Castle is a medieval fortress which was originally built in the 14th century. On the inside, beautiful illustrated stained glass windows, original floorings, oudenarde tapestries and exquisite gilt furniture offer character and charm which provides an atmosphere of grandeur.

Having undergone a major renovation in early 2015, Brook House offers a characterful town house sleeping 18-20 guests and is set on the Berkeley Estate, just a few minutes' walk from the Castle. Steeped in history with bags of character throughout, this Grade II listed house has stunning, modern amenities and stylish furnishings. With lots of different spaces from the luxurious open plan Kitchen/Diner with dining table to seat 20, to the welcoming living space & cosy snug. There are 9 bedrooms sleeping 18-20 guests with 7 beautiful bathrooms. Outside is a garden with patio area and BBQ.
