Timetable of gale dinner with entertainment
19:30 pm Guests arrive - Drinks and canapes served
As guests arrive, they find themselves mingling in a drinks reception while baroque music is played by beautifully costumed musicians.
19:50 pmThe music is interrupted by the arrival of a (very nervous) singer in eighteenth century costume, who informs the assembled guests that they are commanded to follow him, to join their royal majesties, King George the Second and his wife Queen Caroline of Ansbach.
The singer explains this is the first ‘royal command performance’ they have ever given! The singer instructs the crowd in their bows and curtsies, asking them to help him impress George and Caroline.
As they pass through the Georgian rooms of the palace, the singer explains the state use of each room and points out some of the features.
Finally, on arriving at the King’s Drawing Room, the guests and the singer wait nervously until the fanfare arrival of the King and Queen. George and Caroline enter, they greet everyone and sit. The singer and the musicians prepare and entertain all the guests with a selection of the latest Georgian music.
At approximately 8pm, the happy king and queen, having bestowed honours upon the singer, various guests etc. withdraw, instructing the singer to ensure all are treated to a royal dinner.

The singer thanks the guests for their patronage in his mission to impress the king and queen and bids them goodnight. He then leads all to the dining location. Once all are seated, he bids them do as the King and Queen commanded and ‘Eat, Drink and Be Merry’.
