
History
Czocha Castle was constructed in the 13th and is a magnificent medieval fortress with monumental structure located above the valley of the Dam on Kwisa River, is an ideal proposition especially for people are interested in the history of Poland in the Middle Ages, military items and defensive and residential architecture.

The attractive location above the valley of the Dam on Kwisa River (Lake Leśnia), around 4 km from the centre of Leśna (where starts a well-marked road) makes Czocha Castle not only a great starting point for one-day trips to Karkonosze or Jizera Mountains. It is above all a perfect proposition for all history lovers and medieval secrets freaks.

Czocha Castle is an extensive complex consisting of two pre-castle areas, a moat with two stone bridges and the upper castle including a compound of buildings and an internal courtyard with a symptomatic ‘well of unfaithful wives’.

The castle may be accessed through a gate with an early Baroque portal decorated with cartouches with coats of arms and a sculpture presenting a swordsman, which is dwarfed by a round tower with a wooden coping.

Nowadays Czocha Castle hosts a hotel. Its main attraction is a Princely Chamber and occasional outdoor events such as: Middle Ages Days.
