THE CASTLE
"Discovering is the ability to be disoriented by simple things"
Noam Chomsky

The Tafuri Castle, dating back to 1935, is located on a rocky ridge on the south-eastern coast of Sicily, in front of the island of Capo Passero (SR); stands out on a blue and crystalline sea and has been for many years the symbol of this small fishing village, now a destination for tourists and surfers. The history of the castle has been rebuilt for a good part.

The client Franzo Bruno of Belmonte entrusts the construction of a villa in the form of a castle to the Florentine architect Crott. Severino Crott (Castiglion Fiorentino, 1886-1972), known for numerous extensions in the style of religious buildings in Tuscany, works for the first and only time in Sicily right on the Castle.

The project was drawn up in 1933 and in 1935 the works began. It is not known precisely when they will be suspended, due to probable economic problems. Certainly the castle will remain incomplete until 1957, when it will be bought by the Tafuri family.

The castle combines the values of the past with a contemporary redevelopment and offers eighteen elegant rooms and suites, equipped with the most modern comforts.

A panoramic swimming pool with solarium, an exclusive and panoramic restaurant, lounge bar and a splendid terrace overlooking the sea offer moments of peaceful relaxation, in a unique location.
